07/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – Stakeholders have only a few hours left to respond to the public consultation on the digital services package. The procedure expires at midnight on 8 September. Given the numerous comments on Twitter (from telecom operators of major platforms through syndicates), it is highly likely that many stakeholders will submit their position on this major issue for the internet world. Three sectoral consultations are open: one on the principles of the e-commerce Directive, a second on the introduction of ex-ante rules - very large online platforms acting as gatekeepers - and a third on a new complementary tool to strengthen the application of competition rules (see EUROPE 12497/9).
