07/09/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s competition to promote European cinema will undergo several changes in the coming years. Renamed “LUX - European Audience Award for Cinema”, it will in future involve the public more closely, as the public will now be able to vote alongside the European Parliament to choose the winner from among the films in competition (50-50%). The prize will no longer be awarded to the winner by the Parliament alone, but also by the European Film Academy in partnership with the European Commission and the Europa Cinemas network. This year’s three nominated films will be announced on December 12, while the winner will be announced on April 28, 2021. (SPj)
