13/07/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 July, the European Commission approved amendments to thirteen 2014-2020 regional operational programmes and two national operational programmes for Greece. The Commission explained that the amendments will make €1.14 billion available to address the effects of the coronavirus crisis and support Greek companies. Approximately €600 million of the €1.14 billion available will be paid out in the form of subsidies. The Commission hopes that, in total, around 90,000 Greek companies are expected to receive support from these programmes. Elisa Ferreira, the Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, said that all Member States except Denmark and Austria have requested amendments because of Covid-19 (see EUROPE 12525/6). (PH)
