08/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 June, the EU Council called for the EU to support genuine global engagement of young people at all levels and in all regions. In the conclusions on ‘Youth in external action’ adopted by the Member States, the Member States call upon the Commission to draw up an action plan and to develop appropriate tools to ensure that the EU’s external action contributes to this commitment. The EU Council also believes that it is important to invest in and to work with, by, and for youth. It also recalls that young people are actors of change and essential partners in the implementation of the European Consensus on Development, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
