14/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Friday 14 February a review of the safeguard measures on imports of certain steel products into the EU imposed a year ago (see EUROPE 12229/25, 12185/4, 12165/14). The purpose of this review is to examine the evolution of the utilisation of the tariff-rate quotas since the entry into force of the latest amendments resulting from the first review and the comments made by the parties in this respect. In order to take account of developments resulting from its first review, the Commission has decided to initiate a second review to assess the use made of the tariff-rate quotas since then.
