04/10/2019 (Agence Europe) – On 2 October, the European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty, ranging from 18.1% to 41.3%, on imports of Chinese ironing boards. In April 2018, three Union producers, representing more than 50% of the total production of European boards, called on the Commission to review existing measures, in the light of their imminent expiry. In the absence of cooperation from the Chinese side and sufficient facts available, the Commission used an analogue country (Turkey) to determine the normal value of this product. In carrying out its investigation, the Commission relied in particular on its specific report on China (see EUROPE 11918/17), which reported significant government intervention, particularly in the steel sector (40% of ironing boards), the chemical sector and the textile sector.
