12/09/2019 (Agence Europe) – The Greens/EFA group announced on Thursday 12 September that it would like to ask next Monday to add a debate on 'Dieselgate' to the agenda of the plenary session, following the revelations made by the Südwestrundfunk. According to the German media, the new Euro 6 diesel engines of Volkswagen, the manufacturer behind the Dieselgate scandal (see EUROPE 11394/2), are also equipped with a device that would detect whether the car is subject to a laboratory test procedure. For the Greens, the new Commissioner for the Internal Market, Sylvie Goulard, must take up this issue, force the recall of millions of faulty vehicles and compensation for consumers, but also put an end to the compliance factor (see EUROPE 12275/15).
