EFSA has published its opinion reassessing safety of phosphates as food additives

13/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published on Wednesday 12 June its scientific opinion reassessing the safety of phosphates (E 338-341, E 343, E 450-452) as food additives. It considers that phosphates have low acute oral toxicity and that there is no concern about their genotoxicity and carcinogenicity.
