Manfred Weber would make a good President of European Commission, according to Jean-Claude Juncker

13/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, supported Germany's Manfred Weber as his successor, on the margins of the EPP Group Study Days in San Sebastián on Wednesday 12 June. The President of the Commission said that the EPP was unanimously supporting the German's candidacy, reported the group on its Twitter account. The President has, so far, never really taken a position and while some do not believe in the scenario of Manfred Weber's appointment as head of the Commission, other leaders, such as French President Emmanuel Macron, are even hostile to this. “I am firmly convinced that he will make a good President of the Commission and will continue what I started”, added President Juncker, who was holding a press conference Wednesday evening with Manfred Weber.
