29/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – Three out of four non-compliant diesel cars have still not been recalled for compliance, says Transport & Environment in an analysis published on Wednesday 29 May. According to the organisation, which advocates green mobility in Europe, only 10 million of the 43 million diesel vehicles caught in the ‘Dieselgate’ emissions scandal have been recalled since 2015, “although these measures only require the cheapest, least effective form of fixes – software recalls – they will not be completed for another 2 years”, T&E said in its statement. For Florent Grelier, an engineer at T&E, the automotive industry has had 4 years to comply and it still hasn't been done, which he says is “unacceptable”. The situation is even worse in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the organisation. (PH)
