15/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what we wrote in our bulletin dated 12 February (see EUROPE 12192), the European Parliament adopted its position at first reading on the report by Nicola Danti (S&D, Italy) on the Regulation concerning the Single Market Programme, and not its position for the interinstitutional negotiations (trilogues) with the Council. As we indicated in a previous issue (see EUROPE 12177), the Member considers that the negotiations cannot be fruitful until the Council has adopted its position on the next multiannual financial framework in order to be able to address the Regulation’s budgetary questions, precisely where the most important changes have been introduced by Parliament.
