15/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – Member States' ambassadors to the EU ('Coreper') validated on Friday 15 February. the provisional Interinstitutional Agreement on the Working Conditions Directive, concluded in trilogue on 7 February (see EUROPE 12189), aimed at making working conditions more transparent and predictable across the EU. As a reminder, this directive provides in particular that: - the definition of ‘worker' will be left to the discretion of the Member States, but always within the framework of the case law of the EU Court of Justice; - the threshold for application will be 12 hours per month; - essential written information (name of the parties, place of work, specification of work, duration, etc.) must be provided between the first day of performance of the contract and the first seven working days. The formal vote on the Directive, both in the Council and in the European Parliament, will take place at a later stage. (DG - intern)
