13/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 11 February, the European Cyclists' Federation co-signed a letter with 12 other organisations urging MEPs from the ‘Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee’ (IMCO) to be ambitious on the regulation on general motor vehicle safety. The Federation calls for the preservation of the 'intelligent speed assistance' (ISA) system, a warning and intervention system that can provide feedback on the accelerator control when the vehicle exceeds the speed limit. They fear that the European Parliament will prefer the approach favoured by car manufacturers, namely the Speed limit information (SLI) system. The IMCO Committee is expected to vote on the legislative package on 21 February. To consult the Toolkit: https://bit.ly/2ttrHql (PH)
