25/01/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 25 January, the Member States' ambassadors to the European Union ('Coreper') approved the interinstitutional agreement reached between the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU and representatives of the European Parliament on 21 January on the revision of Regulation 391/2009 on ship inspection and survey in the context of Brexit (see EUROPE 12177). The purpose of this text is to enable inspection organisations accredited at EU level by the Commission, on the basis of an initial request from the United Kingdom, to continue their activities in the EU after Brexit A formal green light from the EU Council and the European Parliament is now required for the text to enter into force.
