On eve of ASEM, Commission confirms third trade agreement with an Asian country is on track

On Wednesday 17 October, European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström announced the European Commission's adoption of trade agreements with Vietnam.

Malmström told press that the Commission would, the same day, send the member states its proposal for signature and conclusion of the agreement on free trade and that on investment protection.  After their signature, the European Parliament will in turn be asked to approve them  (see EUROPE 12115).
