The French proposal to create a 'sunset clause' to allow the European Union to bring in a temporary tax on the revenue of digital companies went down well with its European partners on Saturday 8 September, even though it was not the subject of a unanimous agreement.
The question of taxing the revenue generated by digital companies was on all lips during the informal meeting of the finance ministers of the European Union, in Vienna on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 September.
