10/09/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European Transport Workers’ Federation – ETF) notes in a press release on Friday 7 September following a meeting on 6 September with Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc that she wants the proposals in the first mobility package to be adopted before the end of this term of office, but she wants guarantees about the social rights of road transporters. "We found the Commissioner still determined to have the package adopted. We share this goal, but not at any price!" explains the organisation, going on to elaborate on a number of points in the content that it feels are fundamental. ETF has been highly on the subject since publication of the European Commission’s proposal on 31 May 2017 (see EUROPE 11799). the last negotiations failed at both the European Parliament and Council of the European Union (see EUROPE 12078).
