Brussels, 25/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - The two days of work of the European ministers for the economy and industry meeting in Riga on 26 and 27 May for the informal “Competitiveness” meeting, will be entirely given over to the digital economy.
Under the chairmanship of the Latvian economy minister, Dana Reizniece-Ozola, the discussions will be based around three sessions. The first will discuss the role of the European single market in the digital economy, the second will focus on the industries' transition to a digital system and the third on digital entrepreneurship.
Amongst other things, the ministers will share their opinions on the future digital strategy of the European Union, of which the Commission has just announced the three main areas (see above). They will also discuss questions related to connectivity and interoperability, innovation in the digital field and the digital skills of European citizens. (Isabelle Lamberty)
