Brussels, 21/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 20 October 20009, the European Parliament approved by 598 to 49 and 30 abstentions a report by Reimer Böge (EPP, Germany on funding from the EU Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGAF). The Parliament approved the granting of €5.6 billion in EGAF funding for the region of Rheinland-Westphalien in Germany where 1,337 people have been made redundant following closure of the Bochum factory of Finnish mobile phone giant NOKIA.
