22/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Cyprus, Malta and Bulgaria have recently indicated that they would like to have the European Asylum Support Office, which is likely to be set up at the start of 2010, a diplomatic source has revealed. The aim of the new agency will be to provide national administrations with operational and technical assistance on granting asylum in EU member states. The budget for the Office has been set by the European Commission at €44 million. (B.C./transl.rt)
