Advocate General upholds validity of roaming regulation

Brussels, 01/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - The regulation capping prices charged by telecommunications companies for roaming services complies with Community law, according to the opinion of the Advocate General delivered on Thursday 1 October. According to Poiares Maduro, that this market is cross-border is reason for Community intervention under Article 95 of the EC Treaty, the aim being to safeguard the proper functioning of the internal market (case (C-58/08).
