Brussels, 01/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - Since 1 October, the management of internet domain names will no longer be subject to unilateral control by the US Department of Commerce but will depend on the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), an ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) association, with the participation of the United States and 100 other states that hitherto have only played an advisory role.
