01/10/2009 (Agence Europe) - The Czech Social Democrats (CSSD) support renewal of Vladimir Špidla's tenure within the Barroso II team, announced CSSD President Jiri Paroubek after a meeting with José Manuel Barroso in Brussels on Thursday 1 October. The next Czech commissioner will soon be appointed by the interim government under Prime Minister Jan Fischer which, composed of experts, is also supported by the ODS Liberals (the country's main party) and by the CSSD.
