30/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to South Korean government sources, EU Trade Commissioner Catherine Ashton and South Korea's Trade Minister Kim Jong-Hoon will initial a bilateral free trade deal in October between the EU and South Korea, which will be officially signed in March 2010 and come into force in July 2010. Ahead of a 133 Committee meeting to examine the deal's implementation package, European car manufacturers urged EU member states to oppose the signing of this free trade deal in the absence of tangible improvements to it (see EUROPE 9987).
