30/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 29 September in London, EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs and EU Consumer Protection Commissioner Meglena Kuneva opened the second Energy Forum in the interest of consumer rights within the Common Energy Market. The forum comprises representatives of consumer organisations, companies, regulators, member states and the European Commission, who will examine consumer problems, come up with solutions and improve the regulatory framework governing the end markets. The forum focussed on intelligent meters to get consumers involved in the market, more detailed bills and how consumers can change energy supplier. (E.H./transl.fl)
