Brussels, 25/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has allocated €15 million in emergency humanitarian aid for the victims of the conflict in Sri Lanka who are displaced within the country or living as refugees in Tamil Nadu (India).
The funds, taken from the budget of ECHO (the Commission humanitarian aid service), will cover the immediate needs of these vulnerable people, in the form of food aid to the value of €3 million, shelter, water supplies, basic items, sanitation...
