25/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 25 July, the Commission cleared the proposed acquisition by Eni of Italy of Esso Hungaria of Hungary, Esso Ceska of the Czech Republic and Esso Slovensko of Slovakia, together with certain assets and contracts of ExxonMobil relating to the lubricants business in these countries. After examination, the Commission concluded that neither the horizontal overlaps nor the vertical merger would give rise to any competition concerns. (cd)
