21/03/2007 (Agence Europe) - Over the last 30 years the relationship between Canada, Québec and the EU has changed from one of cooperation to that of a strategic partnership, particularly through the Framework Agreement for Commercial and Economic Cooperation linking the two parties. In this context and with the aim of working out how to “meet the challenges of the 21st century together”, the European Network for Canadian Studies, the Canadian Mission to the EU and the General Delegation of Québec in Brussels are pleased to invite you to a conference entitled, “Thirty years of Transatlantic Partnership: Canada, Québec and European Union”. Themes will include: foreign policy; defence, security; prospects for a transatlantic agreement on trade and investment, the ideal governance model and Canada/EU academic relations.
