US company HOSPIRA (USD 2.6 bn turnover in 2005) has launched a friendly takeover bid worth USD 1.9 bn for Australia's MAYNE PHARMA (USD 597 mil turnover in the financial year ending June), 4.10 Australian dollars a share.
