Luxembourg, 25/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 24 April, EU Agriculture Ministers adopted a regulation to allow 50% co-funding from the EU budget of aid for poultry and egg farmers. The poultry sector has seen a slump in demand for poultry since the outbreak of bird flu in a dozen EU Member States.
A group of Member States (Spain, Poland, France, Italy, Lithuania, Cyprus, Greece, Belgium, Hungary and Malta) has been calling for EU co-funding of more than 50%, but they did not win their case....
