Member States divided on how best to improve economic situation for fishermen

Luxemburg, 25/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 25 April, Fisheries Ministers of the EU Member States held an exploratory debate on the communication intended to improve the economic situation in the fishing sector (see EUROPE 9148). Member States were divided on aid to help fishermen overcome the current crisis, caused largely by the lasting high price of fuel.
