Strasbourg, 11/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament has adopted the report by Hannu Takkula (ALDE, Finland) on the “Citizens for Europe” programme by 473 votes to 92, with 51 abstentions. The report recommends that the programme be re-named “Europe for Citizens”, a name which it was felt better reflected the work of the programme, which is to foster a sense of cohesion between EU citizens, of belonging to Europe and the creation of a European identity.
