11/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The “bilateral II” agreements between Switzerland and the EU are the subject of a recent book published in the “Dossiers de droit européen” series by Helbing & Lichtenhahn, Bruyland and LGDJ publishers. Written by experts from the academic world and Swiss civil servants, this book describes in a comprehensive and detailed manner, the nine areas covered by these agreements: cooperation in the areas of Schengen and Dublin, processed agricultural products, the environment, taxation and savings, pensions, the fight against fraud, education, vocational and youth training, the MEDIA programmes and statistics. The extension to the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons in the ten new Member States of the EU; the 2004 agreement on scientific and technological cooperation and the Europol Agreement are also examined.
