Brussels, 11/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures, based in Alexandria, Egypt, has invited young people aged between 18 and 25 to put forward proposals with a view to overcoming the crisis since the publication of Danish caricatures deemed blasphemous by several Islamic organisations and by Moslem countries. This is the first action of a campaign launched in the 35 counties involved in the Barcelona process and will last six months. Young people are invited to ask questions of young people from other countries in the zone. The Foundation says that all those taking part are free to choose the young people of other countries. The questions and answers will be published and presented to the 35 governments of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. The campaign will close with the award of a prize for the “young messenger for dialogue between cultures and religions”. The 100 young people who have asked the best questions will be invited to take part in “youth workshops”, in which they will be able to develop their ideas through working in groups.
