Revised measures for classical swine fever in North-Rhine Westphalia

Brussels, 11/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health voted on Wednesday to ease measures to combat classical swine fever which has afflicted the German Land of North-Rhine Westphalia. To avoid animal welfare problems which result in animal overcrowding on some farms within the surveillance zones, a decision has been taken allowing pigs to be moved within the zones.
