11/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, British Conservative John Bowis deplores the fact that the European Parliament's Conference of Presidents has not agreed to include an oral question on clinical trial in the United Kingdom on the agenda of the plenary underway in Strasbourg. The MEP hoped to ask the European Commission about the disastrous trials that recently led to six volunteers being hospitalised. In particular, he intended to ask whether: 1) the Clinical Trials Directive had been followed in this case; 2) the tests should have been permitted on six people simultaneously; and whether 3) it is true that proposed tests of this same substance had not been approved in Germany.
