Fines imposed by Commission on BASF and Daiichi for participation in cartels in vitamin markets reduced

Luxemburg, 15/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Court of First Instance has reduced the fines imposed by the European Commission on the German firm BASF and the Japanese firm Daiichi for participation in cartels in various vitamin markets. The Commission failed to establish that BASF had acted as instigator or leader of the cartels relating to vitamins C and D3, beta-carotene and carotinoids.
