Human Rights Watch criticises Washington and EU for their indulgence towards Tripoli but notes improvements (considered minor)

Cairo, 27/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 25 January, in Cairo, Human Rights Watch published a report on Libya in which it notes that major steps have been taken by Libya to improve the human rights situation but that the situation still remains generally unsatisfactory. “We welcome the first steps taken by Libya on the road to reform”, Kenneth Roth of Human Rights Watch commented as he presented the report to the government in Tripoli this week.
