27/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Carlos Coelho, who was acclaimed, on Thursday, as chair of the EP temporary committee on the alleged CIA detention camps in Europe, states in a press release that “all the meetings of this temporary committee should be open to the public. This will be our modus operandi unless we occasionally decide to hold a meeting in camera in order to receive restricted information”. The committee, which is to hold its first working session on the sidelines of the plenary on 13 and 16 February, has elected three vice-chairpersons: Sarah Ludford, British Liberal; Giorgios Dimitrakopoulos, Nea Demokratia member; and Cem Özdemir, German Green member (see EUROPE 9118).
