27/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The regulations establishing fishing rights in Community waters and in the Baltic were published in the Official Journal L 16 of 20 January 2006. The levels for the total allowable catches (TAC) and quotas for EU vessels, as well as fishing effort limitation measures (reducing trips to sea) to protect certain endangered stocks (cod, sole, hake, lobster) were decided in December by the Fisheries Ministers of the Member States of the EU (see EUROPE 9096).
