Call to order against seven Member States in combatting sea pollution

Brussels, 12/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Commission on Wednesday sent reasoned opinions to Belgium, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia for failure to respect directive 2000/59/EC (OJ L 332 of 28.12.2000), which is designed to enhance the availability and use of port reception facilities for ship-generated waste and cargo residues in order to reduce jettisoning in the sea.
