The French bank BNP PARIBAS is to acquire 19.7% of the Chinese bank NCCB - NANJING CITY COMMERCIAL BANK for almost 72 million euros. It will also have discussions to enter into the capital of other establishments in various Chinese. NCCB (38.2 billion RMB in assets with a result before tax of 294 million RMB in 2004) is the 22nd biggest Chinese bank with 58 agencies, 1500 employees, one million private customers and 60 000 professional customers.
