Luxembourg, 13/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Court of Justice will welcome the new Danish Judge, Lars Bay Larsen, and the new British Advocate General, Eleanor Sharpston, on 10 January 2006, when they are to take the oath. They replace Claus Gulmann (at the Court since 1991) and Francis Jacobs (since 1988) respectively. Lars Bay Larsen is currently judge of the Danish Supreme Court. Eleanor Sharpston, QC, teaches law at Cambridge University after serving as legal secretary for British Judge Sir Gordon Slynn, in the late eighties. In practical terms, all matters that have gone beyond the written procedure stage and for which Judge Gullmann is Judge Rapporteur should be the subject of a ruling by 10 January and, more likely, just before the end-of-year recession.
