01/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - In collaboration with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), EUR-IFRI, the new unit at the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI) is organising on 17 June in Brussels a conference on the impact of enlargement on the siting of firms and their competitiveness in Europe in the context of globalisation. General contributions and sectoral analyses from participants is expected to facilitate understanding of the conditions that the recent enlargement towards the East provided for opportunities to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprise and best take advantage of the economic dynamism of the new Member States.
