Pascal Lamy officially appointed head of WTO

Brussels, 26/05/2005 (Agence Europe) - The General Council of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), which is made up of representatives of the 148 member countries, has formally appointed Pascal Lamy as the future Director General of the Organisation from 1 September 2005. The former European Commissioner for Trade and EU candidate for the post will take over from Supachai Panitchpakdi for a term of four years.
