09/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of Italian company Sirti (active in engineering and construction of telecommunications networks) by Dutch company Techint (steel products), Stella International of Luxembourg (specialised in treated wood poles for electrical and telecommunication networks), UK company James Jones (wood construction techniques). The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
