Libya studies EU offer for bilateral fisheries agreement

Brussels, 09/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Joe Borg, confirmed on Wednesday that the European Commission had begun to negotiate with Libya on a bilateral fisheries agreement (see EUROPE of 23 October 2004 for the decision by the EU Council of Ministers authorising the Commission to initiate negotiations with Tripoli on this dossier). "I believe it would be an excellent thing", to rapidly conclude this fisheries agreement, Mr Borg said....
