09/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control by BP of HDPE, the joint venture with Solvay SA of Belgium. HDPE is responsible for the production of HDPE high density polyethylene in the United States and Europe. The operation is estimated to be worth EUR 800 million and was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
