Brussels, 08/12/2004 (Agence Europe) - During the 1 December plenary in Brussels, MEPs Ivo Belet (EPP-ED, Belgium), Doris Pack (EPP-ED, Germany), Christa Prets (PES, Austria) and Hannu Takkula (ALDE, Finland) questioned the European Commission about sport in the Union. In 1999, the Commission announced measures in its Helsinki Report to take for ensuring balanced development of sport and its social function.
