According to Greenpeace, four Member States object to ban on cadmium in batteries and accumulators

Brussels, 23/11/2004 (Agence Europe) - Greenpeace denounces the attitude within the Council of France, Ireland, Poland and the United Kingdom, which continue to block the ban on using cadmium in the manufacture of batteries and accumulators. December's Environment Council is expected to take a stance on this ban.
